It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of SisterQueen Deborah Caroline Nelson, a courageous and dedicated member of our board. Her unwavering commitment to our Pan African mission and tireless advocacy were a source of strength and inspiration to us all. SisterQueen Deborah played an instrumental role in supporting our goals and advancing our work. She will be profoundly missed, both for her leadership and for the compassion she brought to everything she did. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time.

ABOUT
The Drammeh Institute, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), volunteer-based initiative and New York State Charity founded to preserve the documentary heritage of the black experience, and is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
Since 1993, the Institute has developed legacy projects to empower the voices of historically underserved communities of Africa and its Diaspora in the form of international social platforms, exhibitions and workshops. These humanities-based projects help to connect scholarly and ethno-classical traditions with grassroots voices and interpretations as the needs of the people change.

- Documentary development for future study and educational purposes, including Oral History.
- Train developers how to assemble research around a moving image project.
- Support and organize events that commemorate and celebrate culture.
- Create partnerships with neighboring community groups, education programs, and NGO's on topic of interest.
